WHOI IMAGE DATABASE &
PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES
Director of Digital Assets Jayne Doucette maintains the WHOI ImageSource database, which is an online image database/archive resource that contains over 300,000 images and video clips. This searchable database is a repository of contemporary items, as well as historic WHOI Archive items. It is available to the WHOI community as a search/download resource as well as to the public as a search/request resource.
Graphics also provides photography services such as:
- location photography
- printing services
- negative/slide scanning
- custom matting and framing
- photo retouching and digital imaging
- passport/visa photos
Matt Barton maintains the WHOI Camera Loan Program, which is a resource available for all WHOI staff members. He can loan you a digital SLR still camera or a digital video camera that you can take out into the field to document your research. When you return the equipment to him, the images and/or video you have captured will be uploaded into the WHOI ImageSource database in order to store it for your future needs and to help promote the WHOI mission.
