Science objectives

Objective will be to successfully deploy the next NOAA DART BUOY #42407.
At position LAT 15 - 15.366 N LONG 068 - 14.266 W.
Depth of 4520 meters.

Science Activities

NOAA DART mooring technicians will conduct the deployment on board Oceanus in conjunction with the ships crew.  Deployment will take aproximately 4- 8 hours and will need to remain on station aproximately 12 - 16 hours subsequently to monitor the mooring and calibrate the tramsmission from the buoy.
