Eighty second record

The three eighty second long 5 mHz ABSS records in this image show a detailed look at a sediment resuspension event. The vertical bands of high suspended sediment concentration indicate a process where sediments are being horizontally advected under the sensor beam. The vertical black lines in these plots align areas of high suspended sediment concentration to the wave pressure record. The vertical bands of sediment occur at both the dominant wave period (~8 sec) and at twice the dominant wave frequency at different times in these plots. The diagonal black lines indicate what could be interpreted as a vertical advection process in response to the passage of a wave group.
