RAFOS Float

Amy Bower, an associate scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, uses RAFOS floats because they give her a reliable, relatively inexpensive way to achieve a long-elusive goal the study of currents that travel deep beneath the ocean surface. (Tom Kleindinst)
