Chemical removal of PSP from shellfish

On Sept. 13, 2000, officials of Bio-Aqua Systems, Inc. (Santiago, Chile) announced U.S. and Chilean patent approvals for paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) cleansing technology that, under laboratory conditions, chemically removes paralytic shellfish toxins from tainted shellfish without changing the flavor, texture, or color of the shellfish.
