Cindy, Red tide update for Upper Coast. I did a fly over of Galveston Bay and observed a red tide bloom off Galveston between .5 mile and 1 mile offshore. There is a probable (no cell counts yet) red tide fish kill in Moses Lake and Dollar Bay. Stressed and dying gizzard shad and striped mullet in East Bay off Frozen Point and the Anahuac Wildlife Refuge shoreline. The fly over was with FOX news and we did not fly south of Galveston. No red tide blooms were observed off Crystal Beach however the water was very turbid in that area of the Gulf.
