Pamela Barrows

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of former employee Pamela Barrows on July 6. She was 75.

Pam was born in Syracuse, NY, moved to North Falmouth as a young girl, and was a lifelong Falmouth resident. She graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Bay Path Junior College.

Pam began her career at WHOI in 1972 as a switchboard operator.  In 1980, she transferred to the Geology & Geophysics Department as a secretary I.  She was promoted several times throughout her career and left in 1997 as a staff assistant III.

After leaving WHOI, she worked at Woods Hole Group.

Pam spent much of her spare time with her nose in a book and her feet in the sand at the beach.

Pam is predeceased by her brother Richard (Dick) Robbins. She is survived by her sister Mimi Kelly and her husband Jack Kelly of Burlington, Mass; her brother Robert (Bob) Robbins and his wife Linda of Falmouth, Mass; her daughter Robin Barrows of Orange County, CA; her son Jeffrey Barrows and his wife Sheila of Falmouth, Mass; her son Kevin Barrows and his wife Pam of Mashpee, Mass; and her eight grandchildren Randy, Alyssa, Julian, Chelsea, Justin, Kaylee, KC, and Kamryn.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 4, at the North Falmouth Congregational Church at 10 a.m.
