Ann E. (Casiles) Henry

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of retiree Ann E. (Casiles) Henry on August 21.  She was 79.

Ann began her career at WHOI as a stenographer in AOP&E from 1955-1957. She left and came back to work in 1974 as a secretary in AOP&E. She was promoted to research assistant/project coordinator in 1980, and then Department Administrator in 1993.  She retired in 1999.

Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allan Henry; her daughter Joan Grondin (Jerry Grondin) of St. Petersburg, FL; son Richard Henry (Stephanie Henry) of East Falmouth; and her two grandchildren Richard and Nichole Henry.

A period of visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 4, at Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth Center.  A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., also in the funeral home, followed by a celebration of her life at the Portuguese American Club (The Navigator) 55 Ashumet Road, East Falmouth, Mass.
