Introduction

Welcome to the WHOI Lowered ADCP program. We provide the equipment and expertise needed to measure currents using LADCP instruments. By mounting 6000 meter pressure rated ADCP instruments on CTD frames, we have the ability to measure full water column absolute velocity profiles just about anywhere on earth. We began with our first ADCP (150 khz Broadband) in 1994, Our LADCP inventory now consists of nine 300 khz and two 150 khz Workhorse ADCPs from Teledyne RD Instruments. We support LADCP operations for any scientist working on any WHOI vessel as well as WHOI scientists on other vessels. We have additionally supported outside scientists on other vessels whenever possible.
