WOODS HOLE PUBLIC LIBRARY:

August 24 @ 8:00 am - September 1 @ 5:00 pm

The library will feature a “Pop Up Book Sale” on their front lawn again this summer, much to the delight of book lovers around the town. Every day, during open library hours, volunteers, including many Library Board members, will pop up a tent and supply it with books donated to the library specifically for sale. All the prices are reasonable, most are $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Nationally famous astronomer Ned Wright will speak at the library on Thursday, September 1 at 4 p.m., about asteroids.  He received a Ph.D. in astronomy from Harvard University. Now he is a research professor in Physics & Astronomy at UCLA where his research interests are infrared astronomy and observational cosmology from space. He has received numerous awards, including NASA’s highest honor, the Distinguished Public Service Medal, in 2018. Currently, he is a member of the Space Studies Board. For more information, visit the library’s website at woodsholepubliclibrary.org, email a question to whpl_mail@clamsnet.org or call the library at (508) 548-8961.
