WOODS HOLE PUBLIC LIBRARY: “Teen Zine”

January 10, 2021 @ 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until January 31, 2021

“Teen Zine” is a workshop for teenagers through the month of January. A zine (pronounced “zeen,” like a diminutive for “magazine”) is a little book or magazine with both original and excerpted text and images, a bit like a short graphic novel, and often photocopied for very limited circulation. Clara Gainer, an artist currently based in Woods Hole, who thinks teens are “a fun age to be” will be running “Teen Zine, a do-it-yourself way to get your ideas out there” via Zoom on Sundays at 4 pm, starting January 10. Clara explains the workshop: “We will be exploring our creativity in the form of self-published mini books. Drawing! Writing! Collage! Abstract! Reality! Fiction! Non-Fiction! The possibilities are endless. There will be opportunities to work on our own and/or collaboratively. Sharing ideas, or simply working side by side the workshop is entirely free. People should register by either calling the Library at 508-548-8961, or emailing whpl_mail@clamsnet.org.
