An event every day that begins at 8:00 am, repeating until April 25, 2021

WOODS HOLE FILM FESTIVAL (WHFF): Is pleased to continue the 2021 season series WHFF Virtual with the feature documentary OLYMPIA by Harry Mavromichalis (Thursday, April 22 through Sunday, April 25, 2021). The Festival will host a live online line Q&A with the filmmakers on Saturday, April 24 at 7 pm EST. The WHFF Virtual screening series will run through May 2021 and will present independent films and special live events hosted on its online streaming platform two weekends every month. Additional events may be added as well. The 30th Woods Hole Film Festival will be held from Saturday, July 31 – Saturday, August 7, 2021. Due to the pandemic, last summer the Woods Hole Film Festival transitioned to an online screening presentation format as WHFF Virtual. Through hard work and staff dedication, the Festival worked around the clock to deliver an 8-day event that presented 187 films from 25 different countries with films from every continent, including Antarctica. The Festival offered over 70 hours of live events, including 28 Filmmaker Chats streamed live to Facebook with 225 filmmaker participants and 18,000 views, 43 live Q&A’s with feature filmmakers, 8 workshops and panels, and 5 music events. The WHFF Virtual screening series builds on this new presentation format. Screening events are hosted online for a four-day viewing period and will usually include a live Q&A or discussion with filmmakers scheduled virtually during the viewing period. The selections include films from the Woods Hole Film Festival, as well as independent films curated specifically for the series. The series is part of an effort by the Woods Hole Film Festival to offer year-round independent film programming to supplement the annual summer Festival. The film will be available to watch between Thursday, April 22 at 8 am and Sunday, April 25 at midnight EST. If you purchase a ticket in advance you will receive an activation link to view the film via e-mail on Thursday morning, April 22. If you purchase a ticket on or after April 22 you will receive a watch link immediately after your order confirmation. A free ticket to the virtual Q&A will be made available when you purchase your ticket. A separate access link for the Q&A will be e-mailed to you approximately one hour before the start of the event. Once you start playing the film you will have 48 hours to finish watching, or until midnight on Sunday, April 25, whichever comes first. For the best community viewing experience, watch the film at 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 24, and then join WHFF Executive Director Judy Laster and the filmmakers for the Q&A on Zoom at 7:00 p.m. EST. Tickets are $14 per person, $20 per household ($12/17 respectively for Woods Hole Film Festival members), and are on sale in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org.
