Ocean & Climate Innovation Accelerator (OCIA) Lightning Talk (Virtual)
August 20 @ 11:00 am
All employees are invited to join the next session of the Ocean & Climate Innovation Accelerator (OCIA) Lightning Talk series on Tuesday, August 20, at 11 AM ET. Lightning Talks are designed to help ADI employees learn from and network with our Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) colleagues as we explore how technologies can advance ocean science research and climate change solutions.
Topic and Speaker Information:
In this interactive webinar, WHOI scientists will present on their OCIA-funded projects:
- The Modular Ocean Sensing Array (MOSA)
Built using ADI’s A2B® technology, MOSA is a low-cost, open-source sensing array enabling scientists to incorporate a broad range of ocean sensing instrumentation, including ocean acoustics. A key application is the ability to detect and localize whales in real-time. - Field Testing of a Dynamic HF Radar Coastal Sensing Network
A high-frequency radar coastal sensing array is being developed to monitor wind, waves, and currents along the coast of Massachusetts in a region that is experiencing significant coastal hazards.
During the Q&A, you will be able to connect with WHOI engineers and scientists and learn about the challenging requirements for ocean-based monitoring.
*Note that attendees must register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
