The library will be offering a course in beekeeping again this year. The course is designed for beginners and consists of five classes, covering honeybee biology and behavior, beekeeping methods and equipment, dealing with pests and diseases, seasonal management, nutrition and feeding, planting for pollinators, harvesting products of the hive, and more. The course will be taught by Master Beekeeper Anne Richards, who has been keeping bees in Falmouth for about 20 years. Classes will meet Monday and Thursday evenings, 7-9 p.m. at the library, February 10-24. The fee for the course is $80 ($40 for under 18), which includes the classes and first-year membership in the Barnstable County Beekeepers Association. Registration and payment are required to reserve a seat. Please pay with cash, check, or credit card at the library, or call (508) 548-8961 to register and pay over the phone.
