Science Objectives

ACT: To monitor the volume transport of the Agulhas Current for three years off East London, South Africa. Cruise in February 2013 is the final of three ACT cruises.

Science Activities

Recover twelve moorings across the Agulhas Current: Seven full-depth current meter moorings over the continental slope, four C-PIES moorings at >4000 m depth, and one tide gauge in shallow water on the shelf.
Occupy 40 CTD stations - 20 during round-the-clock CTD operations fo a synoptic section, and another 20 at night between mooring recovery operations.
