Woods Hole

Arrival: Apr 15, 2012

Woods Hole

Operations Area

100 to 125 nm south of Woods Hole
Lat/Lon: 39° 30.0′ N / 70° 47.5′ W
Depth Range: 500 / 2500
Will the vessel be operating within 200 NM of a foreign country? no

Science Objectives

1) recover test moorings set in September
2) verify functionality of moored hardware and instruments prior to recovery
3) as time allows, multibeam survey of areas of Pioneer Array not previously surveyed
4) exercise winches and recovery hardware planned for use in OOI

Science Activities

1) stand by moorings, do CTD, monitor telemetry
2) recover moorings, document condition and functionality
3) bathymetric surveys of regions of the Pioneer Array
4) training of personnel for OOI mooring recoveries
