Kathi Benjamin 

Director of Human Resources &EEO Officer    

Responsible for the over-arching leadership, management, strategic planning and risk management of all areas within the scope of the human resources organization including all areas of compliance, systems, talent, benefits, compensation, and information handling. An important area of responsibility is the area of EEO related issues, performance matters and employee relations.

Marina Hatch HR Coordinator Marina provides administrative support to the Human Resources Office and triages employee concerns.  Organizes the Employee Appreciation Celebration.


Taylor Mello

Senior HR Partner-Compensation Taylor provides compensation and employment related services while guiding and assisting with internal policies, practices, and procedures as well as external regulations. 

HR Operations & Talent

Todd Kohn

Assistant Director, HR Operations and Talent

Todd manages and improves the Institution’s talent and affiliate life cycle activities, including Foreign National and Affirmative Action programs to ensure over all compliance with Institution policy and government regulations. He is responsible for developing a strong customer focused delivery system in support of Institutional activities and departments which include updating, automating and streamlining processes and systems.  As a critical member of the HR management team, he helps ensure the HR Team delivers critical HR services to the Institution with an eye towards controlling overhead cost.  He is also the Responsible Officer for the Foreign National Exchange Visitor Program.

 Shana Tyner



HR Partner-Talent

Shana provides full support to assigned departments in the areas of recruitment and employment life-cycle related activities.  Shana provides guidance for promotion, appointment extensions, and status changes.  Shana is also responsible for the Affirmative Action Plan.  She is the Responsible Officer for the Foreign National Exchange Visitor Program.

Anita Affronti

HR Partner-Talent

Anita provides recruitment and full cycle  including hiring, posting of positions, assists in employment related issues, and works with departments on their recruitment initiatives. She participates in the interview process and employment screenings, as well as promotions, appointment extensions, and status changes. Anita is also responsible for New Employee Orientation.  She is also an Alternate Responsible Officer for the Foreign National Exchange Visitor Program.


Nicole Wright Assistant Director-Benefits Nicole is responsible for recommending, developing, and managing benefit programs, policies, and procedures.  She is also responsible for administrative oversight of the Institution's retirement plans.
Susan Darmofalski Sr. HR Partner During a time of transition, Susan is providing benefits support.

Meghan Bullock HR Partner-Benefits Provides benefits related services for retirement and health and welfare plans and policies.

Systems, Analytics & HRIS

Kerry Ducharme Senior HR Partner, Systems, Analytics and HRIS Kerry is responsible for ensuring data integrity in the HRIS system and coordinates all HR related changes to HR systems with IS and vendors.  Performs complex analytics and reporting for the department. Responsible for HR Website.
Angelique DePaolo HR Partner, HRIS

Angelique is responsible for the maintenance and reporting of Human Resources Data, ensuring the integrity of the data and systems by performing timely and accurate entry of data to Payroll and external vendors and managing the QC process.  Also responsible for coordinating data related activities with Marine Operations and Academic Program Office.

Michael Brennan


Marine Personnel Coordinator Mike is responsible for all crew staffing for the Institution's research vessels and for enforcing relevant employment and Human Resources policies and procedures effecting marine personnel. He serves as liaison and major point of contact with masters, crew, Payroll and Human Resources. He is responsible for planning and preparing long-range and short-range crew schedules.
