Quest for Whales of the Southern Ocean: Antarctica, March 2016
WHOI Associates and Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris invite you to join an in-depth exploration of Antarctic marine mammals aboard the ice-strengthened ship, Ortelius, March 8-26, 2016. Travel along with marine biologists, including WHOI's Michael Moore, to observe wildlife from aboard the ship during small boat excursions and day trips to the Antarctic continent. Observe Humpbacks, Minke Whales and Orcas, and visit penguin and seal colonies. A staff of trained whale scientists, ecologists, naturalists, wildlife experts, and photographers will give lectures, answer questions and guide excursions.

Mekong River Science Expedition: Southeast Asia, March 2016
Join scientists from the Global Rivers Observatory on an 8-day expedition on the "mother of waters," the Mekong River in Southeast Asia. Expedition leaders Bernhard Peucker-Ehrenbrink (WHOI), and Max Holmes (WHRC) will guide this floating workshop through the middle reaches of the Mekong River from Vientiane, Laos to Nakhon Phanom, Thailand aboard the 32-passenger cruise ship, Mekong Explorer. Experience amazing wildlife and visit monasteries, small towns and markets. Observe how scientists study the ecology and chemistry of rivers, and learn along with local partners as they are trained how to evaluate the health of the biggest freshwater fishery on Earth.
