6 Friday mid-day Labs, 1 hour, GTF (Clark 141), assigned by instructor

Instructor:  Arthur Newhall

This fast paced, 6 week course is a practical, working introduction for anyone using Mac OS X, cygwin under Windows, or any Unix/Linux operating system. The class is designed for those who desire a solid foundation in the Unix environment which is provided by these systems. Often the utilities provided by your OS are not enough to do some of the complex tasks necessary to do some jobs. This course will focus on fundamental concepts and tools which make the Unix system powerful and useful in a scientific environment.
