Sometimes the easiest ways to solve a problem is not to write a program but to use the tools your operating system provides for you.  From this class you will learn to identify and use the tools of the Unix operating system for solving work related problems or doing basic system administration.

This class will be an 8 week intensive short course in learning about the Unix operating system.  Classes will be given weekly starting January 25th.  Each class will be 2 hours of presentation with a 1 hour lab following on Friday at Noon.

The class is offered at no charge to WHOI employees, students and postdocs.  Non-WHOI affiliated individuals will be charged $100 for the course.

As a prerequisite, familiarity with computers and programming is assumed.
