Microsoft Excel 2000 Fundamentals:

This course is intended for participants who have no previous experience with spreadsheet programs. This full-day performance-based training course covers the basics of using Excel 2000, including creating formulas, using functions, sorting data, formatting worksheets, and creating charts.

Prerequisites: Basic Windows skills

Course Length: 1 day

Performance Objectives: Open and move around in an Excel workbook to learn the navigation skills necessary for creating and using Excel spreadsheets.  Organize columns and rows to accommodate information and edit the contents of cells to organize the information on your worksheet. Calculate values by entering formulas into cells and specify an exact address of a cell by creating an absolute cell reference. Use functions to create complex formulas. Sort information to arrange data in ascending or descending order and use filters to display specific information from a list. Format cells and worksheet elements to make the worksheet consistent and readable. Create charts to show data graphically. Change the page setup and preview the workbook to define how the printed worksheet appears.

Using Functions; Creating and Using Functions; Using the AutoSum Feature; Using Functions to Compare Cell Values; Using the Paste Function Command.

Module 5:
Sorting and Filtering Data; Sorting Data; Filtering Data.

Module 6:
Formatting Worksheets; Formatting Cells; Applying Text Formatting; Copying the Formatting to Other Cells; Changing Number Formatting; Formatting Worksheet Elements; Applying Formatting Manually; Applying Formatting Automatically.
