Important Notice about Making Telephone Extension Changes

Do you know that when you change your office location, you must notify the Telecommunications group? This is because Telecommunications is responsible for assigning extension numbers and they need to make necessary program changes when moves occur.

Many times Human Resources receives requests directly from an employee to change a telephone extension only to find out from Telecommunications that the extension given to HR was not the correct one that goes with the room they say they are in.

In order to alleviate such inconsistencies, Human Resources will now only accept extension changes from Telecommunications. If you, or a member of your staff, are making office moves that require an extension change, please be sure to notify the switchboard so they can make the necessary telephone programming updates. Telecommunications will, in turn, notify HR with the new extension number once they have made the change.
