U.S. Visit Exit Procedures
All foreign visitors, with some exceptions, are subject to the US VISIT program upon entry to the U.S. The exit portion of the program is now only available at certain airports. If you are traveling out of an airport with the US VISIT program exit capabilities, you must comply with the exit requirements. Similar to entry requirements, you will have two fingerprints scanned and a photograph taken. As part of the exit process only, you will receive a small receipt as evidence of your departure. You are required to show that receipt in order to board the plane, and should retain it with your other immigration documents. Ultimately, most foreign visitors will be required to check out before leaving the United States.
