Email Information

The WHOI email system is based, on IMAP as opposed to POP. The WHOI email system can not accept or send email larger than 30 megabytes. This limitation is imposed to prevent system resource abuse.

If you leave the institution and want us to forward your mail, you need to contact us within the first 30 days of your departure/check-out date or your email account will be automatically closed. We will continue to forward mail to your new account elsewhere for another two months.

If you have data or files that you need to transfer to coworkers that is larger than this amount, please contact the CIS Helpdesk at x2439 and we will be happy to work with you to arrange alternative data delivery methods.
