Xerox Docucentre Installation

1. Install Xerox printer drivers from the Novell server:

CIS1.USER/SYS/printers/xerox/Centreware/cw51/Print and Fax Services/Drivers/MAC/DC340_DC332- DC 230_ DC 220/XDC340

  1. Double-click on the XDC340 icon to install the drivers on your hard disk.
  2. Open the Chooser and select the icon Xerox DC220-340. Highlight the Xerox you intend to use by selecting the Appletalk zone it resides in, and select the printer name in the "Select a Postscript Printer" dialog box.
  3. Click on Setup. Select a PPD (use the DC220/230/332/340 Xerox) and then choose to Configure.
  4. When the Install Options dialog box comes up, select each item as installed or not, depending upon the individual printer. (a printed configuration page helps here)
  5. If faxing is desired, go to the Print dialog box within the application you created the document. Under the printer name is the word "general". Click and hold and a list of options will drop down. Select the "Xerox features".
  6. The "xerox feature" selection has three options: paper, output and options. Bring the Options tab to the front and under job types select Fax. The Centreware dialog box opens and you should click on "fax setup". If you enter an "outside line prefix", the fax software will always add that prefix. The "station" information refers to the Xerox docucentre you are using. You can also create a new entry. You have to fill in the name of the person you are faxing to and the number you are faxing to.
