Apple laptop battery recalls
August 2006 Apple has issued a recall for about 1.8 Million laptop batteries.
The recall is only for specific Apple laptop models and only for
those batteries in them with specific model and serial numbers.
The recalled lithium-ion batteries were used with the following
computers:

Remove the battery from the computer to view the model and serial
numbers labeled on the bottom of the unit.
Any battery that does not match all 3 criteria is not subject
to recall.
Remember to also check your spare batteries and any battery you
receive as replacement. If you have a battery that have been recalled
or just want additional information, you should go to the web
page that Apple has set up for this purpose http://support.apple.com/batteryprogram.
It is also recommended that you stop using the battery in your
laptop and run it using the power adapter.
