Desktop Support
Our Desktop Support group in CIS offers a variety of services
to end users. Desktop Support is available Monday - Friday, 8AM
to 5PM. Desktop Support covers hardware and software troubleshooting
on the PC, Macintosh,
Linux, and UNIX
platforms.
- The group has a Self Service Provider contract with Apple
Computers which enables our technicians to service warranties
and obtain replacement parts within 24 hours.
- Our Macintosh technicians are Apple certified to work on all
Macintosh computers and MAC OS distributions.
- The group also has a Dell service contract allowing Desktop
support to service Dell warranties and replacement parts.
- Our technicians are very knowledgeable in their respective
fields.
To receive assistance from the Desktop Support group, we encourage
you to first contact the CIS
Helpdesk via email, Service
Request form, or by phone at x2439. The Helpdesk will
process your request and relay it to the proper technician for
the task. Using the Helpdesk
is vital to getting your needs handled quickly. The Helpdesk's
main function is to dispatch information to the right technician.
