A non-profit association of persons who share common concerns for
Meeting House Pond and The River linking it to Pleasant Bay. Now
in its 14th year, the association remains committed to protecting,
preserving, and improving the Pond. The association offers two annual
meetings for the public and an annual regatta for paddle craft and
small sailing vessels.
PUBLICATIONS: Newsletter (twice a year) for members and interested
persons.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS: In cooperation with the Orleans Water Quality
Task Force, the Friends support a Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring
Program for assessing the condition of Orleans marine waters throughout
the year. The association has underwritten the operation of the
Orleans-Eastham marine water quality laboratory. Annual regatta
or "small boat program" (early summer).

The League of Women Voters of the United States was organized in
1920 after the enactment of Women's Suffrage. The Massachusetts
League was formed in the same year, and in 1959 the local League
begin in Orleans and later expanded to become the League of Women
Voters of the Cape Cod Area. Membership is open to all men and women
of voting age. The League is non-artisan and non-profit.
PUBLICATIONS: "Bulletin," "Water, Water Everywhere,"
" Directory of Elected Officials," and "Free or Low-Cost
Health Services on Cape Cod" (in English and Portuguese).

A private nonprofit land trust accepting land donations and gifts
to preserve open space land in the Town of Orleans. Owns and maintains
over 526 acres of conservation land. A member of The Compact of
Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, Inc, and the Land Trust Alliance.
