A private nonprofit land trust accepting land donations and monetary
gifts as well as purchasing lands and holding conservation restrictions
to preserve open space throughout the Town of Harwich. Approximately
300 acres have been protected since the Trust's founding in 1988.
The Trust is a member of The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts,
Inc. (www.compact.cape.com/).

FEES: Annual Memberships $25 and up. Membership by land donation
available.

Organized in 1996, the Association is comprised of persons with
an interest in the long-term protection of Long Pond, the largest
great pond on Cape Cod, covering over 740 acres and split between
the Towns of Brewster and Harwich. The Association strives to educate
its members and the general public on issues that relate to water
quality.
Organization is pursuing funds for treatment of the pond to eliminate
algae blooms. Funds have been appropriated by the Towns of Harwich
and Brewster. Additional funds being pursued from the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts.
