The Cape Cod Bird Club fosters and promotes the knowledge, development, protection, and conservation of the bird life and natural resources of Cape Cod. The Club has approximately 500 members. Meetings are the second Monday of each month, September-May, at 7:30 PM at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.

PUBLICATIONS: Bi-monthly newsletter; "Cape Cod Bird Checklist" (75 cents); "Birding Cape Cod" (1995 publication with Massachusetts Audubon, newly revised and expanded).

OTHER INFORMATION: Annual membership: $10 Individual, $15 Family.

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is dedicated to educating children and adults in understanding and appreciating the natural history of this special environment. Set on over 300 acres within the historic and scenic Stony Brook Valley of Brewster, abutting Cape Cod Bay, the museum contains an aquarium with some 65 indigenous salt- and fresh-water marine animals; informative exhibits on whales and coastal change; mounted birds and mammals; native archeological discoveries; a natural history library and a gift shop. Three nature trails meander along pond, ocean, salt marsh and woodland habitats, allowing visitors to enjoy typical Cape Cod settings on either self- or naturalist-guided walks.

OTHER INFORMATION: Annual membership levels: $35-$1,000. Admission is free to members; non-members: $8 adults and children 13 and up; 65 years and over, $7; ages 3-12, $3.50; under age 3, free.

CCSC provides schools and organizations with lodging and food services for the observation and study of the environments and habitats of Cape Cod on their 48 acres. Accommodations and meal plans made affordable so school groups from all over New England return each year. Groups typically stay at CCSC while they tour Cape Cod, go whale watching, or study the local marine environment.

SPIN is a nature consultancy which creates original and holistic programs for all ages (with a special focus on elementary school and adults) teaching the community of whole habitats - linking habitats with each other and with the seasons; linking nature with history. SPIN also teaches the modular pieces of natural history - birds, botany, bugs, et al. SPIN's indoor/outdoor classroom and field trip programs interact with the environment, using the arts as well as the sciences to create an exciting living experience of nature.
