- The Duck Hunter
Although this shot may look posed, it was in fact was quite spontaneous.
I was putting the finishing touches on Dispatch 16 late on July 30th, but I wanted one more science image. When Marine Science Technician Bryan Klostermeyer announced he was headed to the fantail to launch an XCTD, I grabbed my camera and followed him. While the computer was initializing, Bryan held the launcher ready. The sun just happened to be sinking low on the horizon, so I moved a bit to position Bryan in a classic silhouette. When I was editing the final take on my laptop I realized that if you saw this shot out of context, you might mistake Bryan for a duck (or perhaps walrus?) hunter.
