Navigation was accomplished using GPS and bathymetric surveys were undertaken utilizing a fish finder. The goal was to capture multiple 'sphincter'cores from the deepest and 'flattest' basin in the middle of the lake. A large volume of surface sediment was required to undertake the proposed analysis.
