Left to right: Unknown 210µm, side and bottom (SEM) views; Echinopelta fistulosa McLean 1989 (SEM), protoconch broken off young specimen
Size under dissecting microscope: 210-220µm Size under compound microscope: 200, 205, 210µm
Morphology: This group is quite angular in appearance and has the lines beginning on a raised platform at the base of the shell. In this form the lines become indistinct for most of the shell. The aperture is slightly flared and has a narrow rim. This morphotype may correspond to Echinopelta fistula, which has the same raised platform on the base (see SEM photo above, of a protoconch broken off an E. fistula juvenile).
Frequency: Pump EPR 1999-2000: Frequent (but combined with 240µm size class) Pump EPR 2004: Frequent
