My research interests include population genetics, genomics of non-model species, deep-sea ecology, signatures of natural selection in wild populations, genetic connectivity, ecosystem resilience, and conservation.
I am interested in the shaping and persistence of genetic diversity in populations, specifically with regards to non-equilibrium population dynamics. I’ve recently started a project focusing on the population genomic impact of range expansions in invasive marine species. Additionally, while working in the Shank Lab, I hope to better understand the dynamic relationships between discrete benthic populations and gain insight into the impact of human activities (e.g., bottom trawling and mineral exploitation) on those populations.
I am driven by the desire to better understand the interplay of science and policy in today's society and plan to build a career at the interface of the two.
