Understanding and predicting the effects of climate change on Adélie penguin populations in the Ross Sea

Adélie penguins are very sensitive to change in sea ice (see our 2009 field season blog for a detailed life cycle). I am collaborating with the PenguinScience research group in particular with Dr. Katie Dugger and her students, to understand and predict the Adélie penguin population responses to sea ice in the Ross Sea. To do so, we will apply the two steps: Understand and Measuring of the MUP approach.

This project is funded by the NSF- Antarctic Sciences Division and led by David Ainley, Grant Ballard and Katie Dugger.
