Summer ScheduleClark 271 is set up for the video link to MIT. The MIT viewing room will be 24-411 (unless otherwise stated).
- Tuesday June 27, 3-4 PM Clark 271, Organizational Meeting
- Tuesday July 11, 3-4 PM Clark 271. Papers to be discussed: 1) PhyloGibbs: A Gibbs Sampling Motif Finder that Incorporates Phylogeny, 2) Practical Strategies for Discovering Regulatory DNA Sequence Motifs.
- Tuesday July 25, 3-4 PM Clark 271. Papers to be discussed: 1) Applications of Phylogenetic Networks in Evolutionary Studies, 2) Phylogenetic Super-Networks from Partial Trees (see attached pdf file on this page), and 3) The Net of Life: Reconstructing the Microbial Phylogenetic Network. The first two articles use the software SplitsTree (for generating phylogenetic networks) which I will discuss.
- Please also note MBL Molecular Evolution Workshop from July 23 to August 4, 2006.
- Tuesday August 8, 3-4 PM Clark 271. Papers: 1) Relaxed Phylogenetics and Dating with Confidence, 2) Model Selection and the Molecular Clock, 3) Molecular Clocks: Four Decades of Evolution. The first paper uses the software BEAST which I will describe.
- Tuesday August 22, 3-4 PM Clark 271. To be announced.
