This is one photomosaic strip across the Classical shipwreck at Chios. This image is composed of 17 individual digital photographs, merged together with a computer program produced at WHOI. Some of the features evident on the wreck are a modern plastic trash bag on the left side, several intact and a few broken Chian amphoras, and yellow and orange sponges. Note the two-dimensionality of the image. Without the bathymetric map, it would be easy to think this site has very little vertical relief. (Chios Shipwreck Survey 2005 - WHOI, HCMR, HMoC: EUA)
