Job Summary
Organizes and supervises all Electrical Shop activities and performs a wide variety of electrical tasks in Institution buildings and on ships.

Major Duties

Performs all duties of Senior Electrician. In addition, organizes plans and supervises all activities Electrical Shop personnel.

Works with electrical meters and tools, mechanic's hand and power tools, drill press, power saws, sheet metal tools, heavy equipment (forklifts, crane cars, and overhead cranes), and ships' electrical equipment and machinery.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.

Desired Education/Experience for Hiring
High school or vocational school plus 2 years training school or apprenticeship in electrical trades; Massachusetts Electrician's License; knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations pertinent to installation of electrical cable and equipment; 15 years experience in electrical field including 5 years in marine electrical work and 5 years in supervisory role.
Valid MA driver's license and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
