The Safety & Health Officer reports to the Environment Health and Safety Manager and works with the Institution's various departments in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs.
Desired Education/Experience for Hiring
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering preferred. A minimum of 3 years of related experience in an academic or research organization preferred. Ability to work effectively with a team and independently with minimum supervision and to communicate effectively, orally and in writing required. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and familiarity with computers, computer databases, and on-line training systems preferred. Must be able to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 45 lbs and wear personal protective equipment.
This position involves potential exposure to sources of hazardous chemicals and radioactive materials.
