Job Summary
Reporting
to the Housing Coordinator, with minimal supervision, responsible
for daily housekeeping operations. May direct the day-to-day activities
of lower-classified staff. Provides Housing Office coverage as necessary.
Major Duties
- Performs
housekeeping duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, window
washing, dish washing, cleaning lavatories, refrigerators and
stoves in Institution houses and apartments. Restocks and supplies
housing units as needed.
- Receives
tenant complaints with regard to disrepair, recognizes the need
for housing maintenance and makes the repair or reports it to
Facilities personnel and coordinates its completion.
- Distributes
and collects all keys to/from the Smith Receptionist, tenant,
housing unit or Housekeeping Office and informs the Housing
Coordinator with regard to arrival and departure times.
- Purchases
all supplies, including cleaning, furniture and household items.
Monitors all linen collection, distribution and servicing by
and payment to the vendor. Seeks advice and approval for large
purchases from Housing Coordinator.
- May direct
the day-to-day activities of lower-classified staff.
- Acts
a backup for the Housing Coordinator as needed. Uses computer
software programs (word processing, database, spreadsheet) for
housing reservations and scheduling housekeeping.
- Performs
related duties, from time to time, as supervisor deems necessary.
Desired Education/Experience for Hiring
High
school or equivalent education. Two years experience in similar
duties. Current driver's license and use of personal car required.
