During the 2010–2012 funding cycle, the Woods Hole Sea Grant Program is supporting 13 concurrent research projects fitting into the following theme areas: Many of these projects address local and regional needs, while others have national or even global implications. In addition to research, Woods Hole Sea Grant supports a marine extension program and an outreach and education program. During the 2010–2012 biennium, the program is supporting additional research efforts funded under peer-reviewed regional and national competitions. Major by-products of these projects include publications, workshops, and lectures. Since 1971, programmatic support has resulted in over 800 publications, including journal articles, theses, books, maps, fact sheets, pamphlets, posters, newsletters, and web-based products.
