Alternative Transportation : Facilities

Everybody needs to get around. Each day millions of journeys are made for work, for shopping, for school and for hundreds of other purposes. How we choose to make these journeys affects our environment, our lives and our future.

An effort is being made to raise awareness of the nature and extent of the traffic growth problem here in Woods Hole and encourage changes in travel habits. By encouraging people to use sustainable modes of travel, such as walking, cycling and public transportation, we hope to reduce the problems caused by our increasing dependence upon the private car and help improve WHOI’s environment and that of our community.
