Overview

A. The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution acknowledges the essential role that computer software and hardware serve in the fulfillment of its scientific and administrative operations. As such, WHOI is committed to complying with all the terms and conditions detailed in specific manufacturers' licensing agreements as well as in support of U.S. Copyright Law and other appropriate government regulations. 

B. The Institution policy supports the legal use of licensed software and does not condone illegal duplication of software or documentation. This policy applies to all individuals affiliated with the Institution, including employees, students, postdoctoral scholars and fellows and guests 

C. While the Institution's Computing and Information Services is charged with facilitating computing and networking operations at the Institution, each individual user bears a personal responsibility for policy compliance.
