Bruce Bailey

President, AWS Scientific, Inc.

Bruce is the President of AWS Scientific, one of the country’s leading meteorological and engineering firms for providing siting and assessment services for wind energy projects. He is also a partner in TrueWind Solutions, which specializes in wind mapping and wind plant forecasting services. Bruce has been involved in the wind energy field for 27 years and has degrees in Meteorology and Engineering Management. He is on the Board of Directors for the American Wind Energy Association and is chairman of its Offshore Committee.

Bruce has extensive project development consulting experience, ranging from distributed energy technology applications to large-scale wind projects. He is best known as an expert in wind resource assessment. He is advising on over 2000 MW of planned new capacity throughout North America, and is providing consulting services for offshore projects in the U.S. and Europe. Bruce works on behalf of most of the country’s leading project developers as well as for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Electric Power Research Institute, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, the California Energy Commission, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and major utility companies.
