Cape Cod Times

Companies may license technologies owned by WHOI in order to further develop or incorporate the technologies into products.  To enhance our capabilities, we recently partnered with the Regional Technology Development Corp. (RTDC) of Cape Cod to facilitate the transfer of WHOI technology innovations to the marketplace.

The Bayh-Dole Act is a legal framework for the transfer of university generated, federally funded inventions to the commercial market. The Bayh-Dole Act and subsequent amendments provide the basis for current university technology transfer practices.
