Bring the ocean to your inbox
The MIT-WHOI Broader Impacts Group (BIG) hosted it's inaugural event on June 19th at the WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center. Invited guests included individuals from WHOI and other Woods Hole science institutions who are involved in communicating ocean science. The MIT-WHOI Joint Program students who founded the group include (standing from left): Alice Alpert (treasurer), Whitney Bernstein (president), and Sarah Rosengard (vice president). Rosengard got involved in the effort because, she said, "communication provides opportunities for scientists to learn about the broader impacts of their research, just as much as it opens science to non-scientists."
