James E. Gray

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow
the death of former employee James E. Gray on August 6, 2007 in Reno
Nevada.    He was 84.

James was born in Modesto California.  He served in the U. S. Navy as a
Commissioned Officer in the Ordnance Field from 1941-1972 after which
he became a Correctional Officer in Fairfield California until 1976.

James joined the Institution in 1977 as a Security Guard and later also
worked in the Stockroom. He left WHOI in 1982 to relocate to Nevada.
