Beverly A. Klink

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of former WHOI volunteer Beverly E. Klink on November 25, at Royal Nursing Home in Falmouth.  She was 82.

Born in Leominster, MA, Beverly was the daughter of the late Howard and Albertine (LeBlanc) Worrall. She graduated from Cape Cod Community College and later from SMU (now UMASS Dartmouth) in 1990 at the age of 59.

Beverly was a Civil Service Secretary at several bases while her husband was in the military. She then was a Secretary of Guidance at Falmouth High School. Later, she retired as a substitute Language teacher at both Lawrence School and Falmouth High School.

Beverly volunteered for many years at the WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center and the Falmouth Hospital Auxiliary. Beverly was also a town meeting member and worked the voting polls. She was a member of the Falmouth Women’s Club, B.P.W. of Falmouth, St. Anthony’s Couples Club, Order of Eastern Star, and Red Hat Society.

Beverly enjoyed traveling and loved going to the beach. She was very caring and compassionate, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Scala and her husband Gary of E. Falmouth; two granddaughters, Sarah Scala and Laura Scala, both of New Hampshire; her siblings, Richard Worrall of Virginia, Dorothy Merrill of Clinton, and Emily Breheney of Leominster. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Klink and daughter Melissa A. Klink.

Visiting hours will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 29, at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 E. Falmouth Highway, Falmouth. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
