Scott Wankel's research focuses on the disentangling of complex biogeochemical processes (primarily within the N cycle, but also C, H and S) over a range scales and aquatic environments, in order to improve our predictive capabilities in the face of widespread global change. Scott is  particularly interested in how biogeochemical processes are coupled in nature and how we can  use stable isotopes and genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic information to unravel and quantify these relationships.
