This is a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatogram of oil that leaked from the M/V Cosco Busan. Each peak represents one of the thousands of individual chemical compounds in the oil. The taller the peak, the more of that particular compound is in the oil. Each oil is made of different kinds and amounts of compounds and so will have its own distinctive chromatogram.
